Val-David, May 15, 2025 – North America's largest ceramics exhibition returns for its 36th edition, taking place from July 4 to August 17, 2025, in the heart of the village of Val-David. As an outstanding showcase of contemporary Quebec ceramics, the event brings together more than 100 ceramic artists each year in a breathtaking setting, offering a unique immersive experience to over 50,000 visitors.
Over the past three decades, 1001 Pots has become a can’t-miss event for ceramics lovers, art enthusiasts, and the simply curious. “1001 Pots is much more than an exhibition. It’s a place for connection and knowledge-sharing, where concerts, workshops, and talks are held in harmony, all in deep respect for art, nature, and creativity. It’s a space where visitors can stroll through an enchanting garden, discover one-of-a-kind pieces crafted by talented artisans, sip tea from a handmade mug, or take in a vibrant lineup of artistic and musical programming,” says Sacha Ghadiri, Executive Director of 1001 Pots.

Myriam Bouchard, guest artist
A major highlight this year is the launch of Espace K, a new area dedicated to showcasing renowned ceramic artists. The first invited artist is Quebec’s Myriam Bouchard, who will present a wide range of her sculptural and functional work. Trained in graphic design and ceramics in the United States, Indonesia, Japan, and Europe, Bouchard is known for her exceptional mastery of traditional Anagama wood-firing techniques. She is currently completing a three-year research residency at the Centre céramique contemporaine de La Borne (CCCLB) in France—a major hub for contemporary ceramics and wood firing—where she creates flame-shaped pieces that reveal a rich and unique surface texture born from the direct interaction of clay and fire.

Courses and training for amateurs and professionals
The 2025 edition will offer an expanded programme of over 50 courses and workshops open to all. From beginner sessions for children and wheel-throwing workshops for amateurs, to intensive masterclasses for advanced practitioners, there’s something for everyone looking to deepen their knowledge and skills. Visitors will also enjoy inspiring encounters with experts, including a masterclass on local Quebec clays led by Linda Swanson, a talk on eco-friendly ceramics hosted by Cindy Labrecque and Loriane Thibodeau, and a presentation on wood-firing techniques by guest artist Myriam Bouchard.

A vibrant music and theatre program
All summer long, 1001 Pots will come alive with outdoor concerts and artistic performances. Every Friday evening, the Jardin de Silice will host intimate concerts by artists such as the voice and guitar duo Hélène Picard and Steve Cowan, harpist Valérie Milot, the Stone Bonnets Choir, the Beija-flor duo (flute and guitar), and sitar virtuoso Uwe Neumann. On Saturday afternoons, visitors can enjoy live jazz performances as they explore the site. From August 1 to 10, the 5th edition of the 1001 Patentes qui Bougent Festival will showcase the arts of puppetry and masked performance, featuring moving and explosive shows, street performances, and roaming acts that are sure to delight audiences of all ages.
